Artist's Comments

As most of you know yesterday was Thanksgiving... so I wasn't home the entire day. I went and visited Razi's family for the holiday since there's no way I could have seen mine (they're all the way in CO and I'm in CA). So that was nice.

Anyway, after dinner and all the food, we went out to this little shopping center place that had this really nice boba cafe thing (can't remember the name of it). The area was heavily populated with Taiwanese and Japanese so it was pretty interesting. Our waiter was soooooo cute! Heck there were soooo many cute people there. I wish I were more outgoing and talked to them but oh well. xD; Anyways! Razi was telling me, as we all started drawing (she, our friend and roommate Misty, and me) that all my faces always look the same. This is true. And I should try something different more. I've tried finding good reference for different ethnic features but Google proves practically useless. I've improved on Sachiel some since now he looks more how I want him to with the more Asian eyes and softer face shape (more round). But I have yet to really make Masurao look like his ethnic group (Japanese/Egyptian).

So anyway. Raz says I always draw my faces the way Kenny (my ex) looks. And this is true. There are features of his that I still draw subconsciously in my work. Like my eyes always tend to resemble his. Same with lips too sometimes. Hairlines... etc. I tried drawing Kenny again on here hahah, but it ended up not looking like him. Raz says it's part of the healing process. So I know my problem, I have for a long time. It's just a hard thing to break. I'm trying and I think I'll get it eventually...

So these sketches were my trying to get out of it. I still am full of epic fail in a lot of ways but I think I'll overcome this problem with time and practice. and school. Once I go back...

I firmly believe one of modern civilization's greatest inventions has been indoor plumbing. :toilet:

The only advice I could give for something like this since I'm still learning this myself is that chins make a big difference and where you place features on the cross hair can make people look older or younger. That's all I have xD

That one on the right is very very pretty. I see difference between the <3

I could make it December every day,
But you're so blind, it might as well be May.
