Masurao's new nude reference. And hopefully the last time I'll have to draw it lol. References can be interesting to look at and fun to draw a lot of the time, but when you have to keep re-drawing them due to character re-designs, it can get tiring lol.

Anyhow.. Yes I know he looks girly-ish in the front and back views. I was looking at Jahi's work when I was drawing this (she's my new-found inspiration o.o) and all her males are like way proportionate and awesome looking (and sezzy lol), and I guess you could say it has got me wanting to draw my males more proportionatly in the torso area. Hence why his body isn't pencil thin (for a guy) anymore. Before my guys' waist was as wide as the width of their heads just about, and here it's more proportionate. Course Masurao's hair makes his head look bigger lol, but it's still more the right size.

Things that have changed includes practically everything. He's not 2025 years old anymore (decided even that was a bit too old for him despite his story), instead he's only 400. Sachiel will in turn, be younger as well. Maybe 300 or so. And now it's more evident why I started calling his race a species instead of "race", because like humans or anything else on this earth, he's part of a species yet like us there are different ethnicities. I'm not sure what each different ethnicity will be called officially yet, I was going to go with all elemental names (fire, water, wind, earth, etc), but I might keep it to types of environments (desert, forest, jungle, mountain, etc). Since Masurao in particular will be based off of the Egyptians as far as his ancestry is concerned, I made him half Desert Swyft Claw, and to add to that I made him also half Ice Swyft Claw. I figured, looking at his features, his red colored skin would make more sense being desert or forest, but his dark purple markings with hair that fades from dark purple to that icey blue would make more sense being a feature from a race in a more icey/cold climate.

My plans as far as the different races or Swyft Claw go, is each race will have their own unique physical features. One will be the prime race, basically the first type of Swyft Claw, and the most basic looking. All others will, for instance, have horns, spikes, different colors or types of markings. Their ear shapes will be different, their body types will differ. The only features that will always remain the same among all races will be the shape of their claws, which is the only feature that would really tell what species they are. I have a few races sketched out right now, hopefully I'll have something put together as an official appearance guide for them some time in the near future. I really wanna get it done so I can show what my species will look like.

So. Yeah. X3 Masurao's pretty diverse. And a lot of the time he gets snarls from other Swyft Clawed because of that. Not to sound prejudiced, but he's kinda in the same situation as children with for instance, african american and caucasian parents. In the beginning it was greatly shunned and looked down upon to marry interracially, and Masurao's world is no different. It's even more forbidden to marry and reproduce interspeciesially (is that a word? lol). So, Bevan and Teresa will have a lot of problems, far more than Masurao ever will. That is until Masurao comes out of the closet about his love for Sachiel. Then he'll get the most crap because not only does he love someone of a different species, but he's also gay too. Poor guy. :hugs Massy:

Anyway I'll shut up now lol. I just like spewing information about my story and my plans to people. It makes me happy to share my ideas. As long as no one steals them lol. >_>

He *does* look somewhat effeminate, but thats not necessarily a bad thing <3 The lines are good, and you're digital coloring is prettiful! (RED!)

Wow.. I really like his new design. I was so caught up in description, that I almost forgot to look at the pic...^^;

Your story sounds very intersting. Are you planning on uploading it onto dA...or something? Becuase I would love to read it.

Hmmm...to me he doesn't look anything like Dark from that BASTARD series (I've seen all of it. A wierd series that was...lol)

well it's going to be a manga (I just call it a story because that's what it is to me lol), but yeah. When I do start drawing it I'll probably be posting it up here, as well as on a seperate website too. Like a webcomic. :3

I don't mind at all. ^^ That's how I started out. Though I would very much advise trying to draw from life too (photos work best methinks), it'd help you improve heaps more than drawing from other peoples' art. Well, so I've noticed anyhow. ^^;

Thanks for your compliments dude. :D And I've seen your artwork- I think you're pretty good at anatomy, actually. ^^ Course, we never stop learning I guess you could say, and there's always room for improvement in all of us. ^^
